Minor Girl Allegedly Raped at Delhi Hotel Days After Aastha Kunj Park Gangrape

A minor girl was allegedly raped at a hotel in north Delhi’s Wazirabad area by a man she had met through social media, police said. The case comes days after the alleged gangrape of a 17-year-old girl near Kalkaji Mandir.

According to police, the girl and the accused live in the Wazirabad area and had become acquainted through social media.

Police said the accused allegedly took the minor to a hotel on the pretext of their friendship and sexually assaulted her there.

A case has been registered at Wazirabad police station under relevant provisions of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act and other applicable sections of law.

Family Approaches Police After Alleged Assault

After the incident, the girl returned home and told her family about the alleged assault. Her family then approached the police.

The minor underwent a medical examination, and her statement was recorded by investigators, police said.

Based on her statement and the medical examination, Wazirabad police registered a case against the accused. The man has allegedly been absconding since the incident.

Police teams are conducting raids at multiple locations in an effort to trace and apprehend him.

Investigators are also examining how the minor was allowed to enter the hotel. Police are checking the hotel’s register, CCTV footage and other records as part of the investigation.

What Happened in the Aastha Kunj Park Case?

The latest case comes days after a separate alleged gangrape involving a 17-year-old girl at Aastha Kunj Park near Kalkaji Mandir.

According to police, the girl had gone to the park on Monday evening with a 17-year-old male friend. Three men—identified by police as Asif, Hemant and Hemant’s brother Manish—allegedly posed as police personnel before taking the girl inside the park, where she was allegedly raped.

Asif was later arrested following an encounter with police in southeast Delhi.

Police said Asif allegedly opened fire at the police team when officers attempted to intercept him near DM Office Road in Amar Colony. He reportedly fired three rounds.

During the exchange, one bullet struck the bullet-proof jacket of head constable Rajesh. Police said the officer fired two rounds in self-defence, with one bullet hitting Asif in the right leg.

The investigation into both cases is underway.
