Sheetal Devi Continues Winning Streak, Excels in Class 12 Exams After Asian Para Games Glory

Indian para-archer Sheetal Devi is enjoying success both on and off the field. After an impressive campaign at the Asian Para Games in Nagoya, where she won two gold medals and a silver, equalled a world record and set a new one, the 19-year-old has achieved another milestone in academics.

Sheetal recently shared the news on her Instagram story, revealing that her Class 12 results had been declared and that she had successfully cleared the examination.

“Meanwhile, results are out! Officially a 12th pass,” she wrote, celebrating her academic achievement.

Sheetal Devi’s Remarkable Performance in Nagoya

Sheetal delivered a memorable performance at the Asian Para Games, winning two gold medals within a few hours on October 22. Her achievements took her overall medal tally at the event to three.

Earlier, she teamed up with Toman Kumar to secure the gold medal in the compound mixed team event. She followed that victory with another outstanding performance in the individual competition at Okazaki Chuo Sogo Park Multipurpose Square.

Facing Singapore’s Alim in a closely contested final, the reigning world champion showed remarkable determination after falling four points behind during the opening two ends. Rather than allowing the early deficit to affect her performance, Sheetal mounted an impressive comeback.

She delivered six 10-point shots, including three Xs, across the next two ends, turning the contest around and establishing a two-point advantage before the final three arrows.

Under pressure in the decisive moments, Sheetal maintained her composure and scored 27 points with three consecutive 9s. Alim managed 26 points, recording a 9, an 8 and another 9, allowing the Indian archer to clinch the gold medal.

Her performance in Nagoya further strengthened her reputation as one of India’s leading para-archery talents.

Eyeing a Bigger Challenge

Beyond her achievements in para-archery, Sheetal has also expressed her ambition to compete at the Los Angeles Olympics in the able-bodied category. Her latest academic success adds another milestone to an already remarkable journey, highlighting her determination to pursue excellence beyond the archery range.
