Gujarat: Flipkart Delivery Agent Arrested for Allegedly Stealing Parcels Worth ₹4.6 Lakh

A 26-year-old delivery agent working for Flipkart has been arrested in Gujarat for allegedly stealing customer parcels containing 13 mobile phones and several other valuable items worth ₹4.60 lakh. The Bhavnagar Local Crime Branch (LCB) arrested the accused after receiving information that he was attempting to sell electronic goods without bills or ownership documents, police said on Saturday.

The accused, identified as Rutvik Makwana, alias Koli, was arrested on October 23 near the embankment of Gangajaliya Lake on Motibaug Road in Bhavnagar. Acting on a tip-off, an LCB team reached the location and found him in possession of the goods.

When questioned, Makwana allegedly failed to provide purchase receipts or documents establishing ownership of the items. Unable to offer a satisfactory explanation, he was taken into custody, and the suspected stolen goods were seized.

During interrogation, Makwana allegedly admitted to working as a Flipkart delivery agent in Surat and stealing the parcels around 15 days before his arrest.

According to police, he would collect delivery bags containing mobile phones and other expensive products intended for customers but allegedly misappropriate the shipments instead of delivering them or returning them to the company. He then allegedly fled with the goods.

Makwana, who works as a labourer, resides in the Raj Mandir Paan Wala lane near Hussaini Chowk in Akhlol Jakatnaka, Bhavnagar. He was handed over to Gangajaliya police station for further legal proceedings, while the investigation continues.
