Former Miss Switzerland Accuses Donald Trump of Rape in 1993, White House Rejects Allegations
US President Donald Trump has been accused of rape by former Miss Switzerland contestant and model Beatrice Keul, according to a report released by Democrats on the House Judiciary Committee. Keul, who had previously accused Trump of groping her in November 1993, has now alleged that he sexually assaulted her during the same encounter.
The allegations appear in a 53-page Democratic report examining Trump’s connections to convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein. The report includes accounts from Keul’s interviews with Democratic lawmakers and revisits allegations of sexual misconduct involving the US president.
The White House has rejected the claims, describing the report as “a desperate attempt by crazed Democrats to distract Americans from the surging Republican momentum driven by President Trump’s historic achievements”.
What the Report Says About the Alleged Assault
According to the report, Keul alleged that the incident occurred in 1993 at a hotel room in Atlantic City after she had spent time with Trump and Epstein. She reportedly described the alleged assault as “brutal” and claimed that her dress was torn and that she suffered bleeding and bruising.
Keul said she first met Trump when she was 24 at a pageant event at New York’s Plaza Hotel, which Trump owned at the time.
According to an account published by The Telegraph, Trump allegedly offered to help her obtain a US visa and secure admission to New York University (NYU).
“I will take care of you,” Trump reportedly told her.
Keul further alleged that Epstein approached her after Trump left their conversation, introducing himself as Trump’s best friend and inviting her to a party at Mar-a-Lago.
The Democratic report states that a representative for Trump later invited Keul to meet him upstairs at the Plaza Hotel. According to her account, Trump allegedly grabbed her from behind and raped her.
The report further claims that, following the alleged assault, Trump spoke to Keul about the visa and university admission offers and asked her to remain silent. The account attributes the words “the show must go on” to Trump.
These details represent allegations contained in the Democratic report and have not been established as facts by a court.
Report Examines Trump’s Connections to Jeffrey Epstein
The report also examines Trump’s past association with Epstein, who died in federal custody in 2019 while awaiting trial on federal sex trafficking charges involving minors. His death was officially ruled a suicide.
Trump has said that he ended his friendship with Epstein before the financier’s criminal activities became widely known. The president has denied wrongdoing in connection with Epstein and has not been charged with a criminal offence related to the case.
The controversy surrounding the release of the so-called Epstein files has continued to draw political attention in Washington. Trump initially resisted their release but eventually signed legislation passed by Congress requiring the publication of the records.
His name appears repeatedly in the released documents, although being mentioned in those records does not, by itself, establish criminal wrongdoing.
Democrats Call for Independent Investigation
House Judiciary Committee Democrats said Keul’s account was consistent with other publicly reported allegations of sexual misconduct against Trump. They argued that the allegations warranted further scrutiny of his association with Epstein.
Jamie Raskin, the committee’s ranking Democratic member, accused the Justice Department of failing to pursue the matter adequately.
“Five women have directly accused Trump of rape or sexual assault in Epstein’s company or presence,” Raskin said.
Democrats called on Attorney General Todd Blanche to appoint an independent special counsel to investigate Trump’s connections to Epstein and examine whether other individuals may have participated in or facilitated the financier’s crimes.
In their report, committee Democrats argued that an independent investigation should cover the president’s conduct as well as the activities of Epstein’s alleged accomplices and co-conspirators.
They also criticised the Justice Department’s handling of the investigation, alleging that officials were protecting Trump rather than pursuing accountability. The department’s response to the allegations and the Democrats’ demands remains central to the political dispute.
Epstein Controversy Looms Over US Midterm Elections
The allegations have emerged ahead of the November 3 US midterm elections, which will determine control of Congress.
Democrats have reportedly spent more than $35 million on advertisements related to Epstein, making the controversy a prominent issue in their political messaging.
The latest report has renewed scrutiny of Trump’s past relationship with Epstein. However, the rape allegation attributed to Keul remains an allegation, and the White House has denied the claims. The report’s publication does not itself establish criminal liability.
