Asha Bhosle’s Son Denies Death Rumours: “She’s Fine, Please Don’t Spread Misinformation.”

Fans of legendary playback singer Asha Bhosle were left confused and concerned after false news of her death circulated widely on social media. The rumours began when a Facebook user named Shabana Shaikh shared a garlanded photo of the veteran singer with a misleading caption claiming she had passed away on July 1, 2025.

The post read: “Famous singer Asha Bhosle passed away – a musical era ends (01 July 2025).” It was quickly picked up and reshared by others, sparking a wave of unwarranted mourning online.

Putting all speculation to rest, Asha Bhosle’s son Anand Bhosle clarified the truth in a statement to calling the rumours completely baseless.

“It is untrue,” he said, firmly dismissing the hoax.

Recently Seen in Public Tribute to RD Burman
Far from the grim claims, Asha Bhosle was recently seen publicly commemorating her late husband and legendary composer Rahul Dev Burman on his 85th birth anniversary on June 27. Dressed in a soft pastel saree and her signature pearl necklace, the singer paid tribute by garlanding his photograph and displaying his cherished possessions — including his harmonium, medals, and awards.

In a heartfelt moment, Bhosle reminisced about working with Burman, telling IANS:

“I never had any difficulty tuning with him. I used to sing his songs easily. But those who come now will find it difficult. They won’t be able to sing the songs I have sung.”

A Storied Life Beyond Music
Asha Bhosle’s personal life is as storied as her musical journey. She eloped with Ganpatrao Bhosle at age 16, and the couple had three children before separating in 1960. In 1980, she married RD Burman, and they remained together until his death in 1994.

Known for her resilience and versatility, Asha made a powerful comeback with songs in Rangeela and debuted as a lead actress in the 2013 film Mai at the age of 79. Beyond music, she’s also known for her love of cooking — a passion she turned into a global restaurant business, with outlets in cities like Dubai, Kuwait, and Manchester.

Verdict: She’s Alive, Healthy, and Cherished
The false reports have been widely condemned by fans and family. Anand Bhosle has urged the public not to fall for misleading posts and to verify information before sharing.

Asha Bhosle remains one of India’s most iconic voices — very much alive, active, and continuing to inspire generations.
