Bhooth Bangla box office Day 13: Akshay Kumar–Priyadarshan reunion crosses ₹200 crore worldwide

The horror-comedy Bhooth Bangla has officially joined the ₹200-crore club at the global box office, achieving the milestone on Day 13 of its release. Backed by a strong second week, the film has emerged as one of the biggest Hindi hits of 2026 so far. However, with daily collections beginning to dip and fresh releases arriving soon, its march towards ₹300 crore now looks uncertain.

Box office update

Released on April 17 with paid previews a day earlier, the Akshay Kumar-led film collected ₹58 crore net in India over its opening weekend and crossed the ₹100-crore mark on its second Saturday.

After a steady second weekend, the film saw the usual weekday drop but showed slight recovery midweek. On Day 13 (Wednesday), it earned ₹3.50 crore net domestically, pushing its India total to ₹124.50 crore net (₹147.90 crore gross). While a bump is expected over the third weekend, competition from upcoming releases like The Devil Wears Prada 2 and Raja Shivaji could impact its momentum.

Overseas performance

Internationally, Bhooth Bangla had a modest start but picked up pace over its first weekend, earning around $1 million across Days 2 and 3. After 13 days, its overseas total stands at $5.6 million.

Collections abroad have now slowed significantly, dipping below $80,000 per day. Despite this, the film is expected to close near the $6 million mark before wrapping up its run. Its worldwide gross currently stands at an even ₹200 crore.

Among 2026’s top performers

The film becomes only the third Hindi release and sixth Indian film overall in 2026 to cross ₹200 crore globally. It is now eyeing The RajaSaab (₹208 crore) as its next target on the yearly charts.

Beats recent horror-comedy hits

With this total, Bhooth Bangla has outperformed several recent releases. It has already surpassed Sikandar (₹176 crore) and earlier crossed fellow horror-comedies like Bhediya and Munjya.

In its second week, it also went past Stree (₹180 crore) and Thamma (₹171 crore), becoming the fourth-highest-grossing horror-comedy in Hindi cinema.

It now trails only Stree 2 (₹875 crore), Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 (₹424 crore), and Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 (₹266 crore) in the genre. Whether it can break into the top three will depend largely on its third-weekend hold.

About the film

Directed by Priyadarshan, the film marks his return to Hindi cinema after five years and reunites him with Akshay Kumar after 14 years.

The ensemble cast includes Tabu, Wamiqa Gabbi, Paresh Rawal, Rajpal Yadav, and Mithila Palkar.
