Bihar on High Alert After Jaish-e-Mohammed Operatives Enter from Nepal.

The Bihar Police Headquarters on Thursday issued a statewide high alert following intelligence reports that three Pakistan-based terrorists have entered the state. The suspected Jaish-e-Mohammed operatives reportedly crossed the border from Nepal last week.

The individuals have been identified as Hasnain Ali from Rawalpindi, Adil Hussain from Umerkot, and Mohammad Usman from Bahawalpur. Intelligence indicates they reached Kathmandu in the second week of August before entering Bihar.

Police in border districts have been provided with the suspects’ passport details, and security agencies have been instructed to enhance surveillance and gather intelligence. District intelligence units are monitoring for suspicious activity and taking preventive measures.

Security has been strengthened along Bihar’s 729-km open border with Nepal, particularly in the Seemanchal region and districts including Madhubani, Sitamarhi, Supaul, Araria, and East and West Champaran. The state has faced ongoing challenges with cross-border infiltration, especially ahead of Operation Sindoor and the upcoming Assembly elections.

India shares land borders with seven countries—China, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Nepal, Bhutan, Myanmar, and Afghanistan—as well as maritime boundaries with Sri Lanka, the Maldives, and Indonesia.
