Dhurandhar: The Revenge has stormed the box office with a historic opening, as Ranveer Singh’s latest release became the first Bollywood film to cross the ₹100 crore net mark in a single day.

Powered by strong paid previews and massive Day 1 footfall, the film has set a new benchmark for Hindi cinema. Directed by Aditya Dhar, the spy thriller released worldwide on March 19, but its record-breaking run began earlier with paid previews in select international markets. The film collected an impressive ₹43 crore net domestically from previews alone, comfortably surpassing the previous benchmark set by Stree 2 in 2024.

Record-breaking Day 1 numbers

According to early estimates from Sacnilk, the film earned around ₹103 crore on its opening day, taking its combined total (including previews) to approximately ₹146 crore net. Even with partial figures, the film has already registered the biggest opening in Bollywood history.

Dubbed versions add to the surge

The film’s performance has been boosted by its multi-language release. The Telugu version has emerged as the strongest among dubbed formats, while Tamil is close behind. Malayalam and Kannada versions are expected to pick up over the weekend after missing preview screenings due to cancellations.

Surpasses major Bollywood blockbusters

With its massive start, the film has outpaced several recent hits, including Pathaan, Jawan, Animal and Stree 2, setting a new opening-day record in the industry.

The film also features a strong ensemble cast with R Madhavan, Arjun Rampal, Sanjay Dutt, Sara Arjun and Rakesh Bedi in key roles.

The first film in the franchise was a massive global success, reportedly earning over ₹1300 crore worldwide. With such a phenomenal start, Dhurandhar: The Revenge is now poised to set even bigger milestones in the coming days and could redefine box office records for Indian cinema.
