Educated Professionals in Terror Networks: Female Doctor’s Alleged Role Raises Security Concerns.
Security agencies are sounding the alarm after the investigation into Delhi’s Red Fort car blast revealed the increasing involvement of educated professionals in terror activities. The probe, which links the incident to a Faridabad-based module, indicates that highly educated individuals, including doctors, have used their professional credibility to evade scrutiny.
At the center of the investigation is Dr. Shaheen Saeed from Uttar Pradesh, whose role in financing and facilitating the operation has emerged as critical. Intelligence sources say Shaheen was connected to Dr. Umar, an Al-Falah Medical College alumnus in Faridabad, who is suspected of driving the vehicle that exploded in Delhi on Monday, killing twelve people.
Shaheen is also reportedly linked to Muzzamil, the key accused, from whom authorities recovered significant evidence earlier. Sources indicate she was in a relationship with Muzzamil and closely tied to the core group planning the attack.
Investigators allege that Shaheen was radicalised through Jaish-e-Mohammed’s efforts to establish a women’s brigade for psychological operations in India. She is believed to have overseen female recruitments and traveled multiple times to Jammu and Kashmir.
Officials suspect she was directly involved in funding the attack. The group reportedly pooled Rs 35–40 lakh, much of it arranged through Shaheen’s networks. The vehicle used to transport recovered weapons in Faridabad has also been traced to her, further linking her to the plot.
Authorities say Shaheen leveraged her medical profession and networks to disguise illicit activities. Encrypted communications with Muzzamil and Umar reportedly took place via medical welfare and NGO channels, which served as covers for fund transfers and operational coordination.
Investigators are also probing her ties to the Al-Falah network in the Delhi-NCR region, a hub for recruitment and radicalisation. The network reportedly spread extremist narratives under the guise of educational and welfare initiatives.
The involvement of an educated, socially influential woman in financing and facilitating a terror module has raised serious concerns among intelligence agencies. Officials warn this signals a dangerous shift in India’s internal security landscape, highlighting the increasing radicalisation of professionals from privileged backgrounds.
