Malaysia PM Condemns Delhi Red Fort Blast, Extends Condolences.

Malaysia’s Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim has strongly condemned the Red Fort blast in Delhi, expressing deep sorrow over the loss of lives and solidarity with India as investigations point to possible terror links. In a post on X (formerly Twitter), he described the incident as a “senseless tragedy” that demands the strongest condemnation.

“I am deeply saddened by the explosion near the Red Fort in Delhi on Monday evening, which claimed several lives and injured many others. My heartfelt condolences go to the victims’ families and the people of India as they mourn this tragedy,” Ibrahim wrote.

He added, “If confirmed as an act of terror, it deserves the strongest condemnation. There can be no justification for violence that targets innocent lives and spreads fear among ordinary people.”

The Malaysian PM also lauded first responders and authorities working to determine the cause of the blast, saying, “Our thoughts and prayers are with all who are affected.”

The explosion occurred around 6:52 pm when a Hyundai i20, with a Haryana registration, suddenly blew up near Lal Qila Metro Station Gate No. 1. The blast killed nine people, including traders, commuters, and workers, and injured over 20 others, some critically. Surrounding vehicles were damaged, and pedestrians fled in panic.

Following forensic inputs suggesting possible terror involvement, the Delhi Police invoked the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA). The incident comes just hours after authorities recovered 2,900 kg of explosives in Faridabad, about 50 km from Delhi, heightening security concerns.
