African Icons, Leaders Set to Convene at 100 Most Notable Africans Summit 2026 in Morocco

Prominent African leaders, policymakers and global influencers are set to gather in Marrakech, Morocco, for the 2026 edition of the 100 Most Notable Africans Leadership and Business Summit, with Nigerian music star Wizkid and South African sensation Tyla among those to be honoured, reflecting the event’s blend of leadership, business and cultural excellence.

The summit, scheduled for June 19–21, 2026, will bring together policymakers, diplomats, investors and entrepreneurs from across Africa to explore investment opportunities and strengthen cross-border collaboration.

Kingsley Amafibe, Project Director at the Davdan Peace and Advocacy Foundation, said preparations picked up pace after engagements at the 39th Ordinary Session of the Assembly of the African Union in Addis Ababa.

He added that the summit celebrates individuals who have shown outstanding contributions to peace advocacy, economic reform, humanitarian service, youth empowerment, diplomacy and community development across Africa.

Being listed among the 100 Most Notable Peace Icons Africa signifies leadership, credibility, continental relevance, and an enduring legacy that contributes to peace, unity, and sustainable development,” Amafibe said.

Event Highlights

Participants will arrive on June 17, followed by networking sessions on June 18. The summit and exhibition will begin on June 19, with the prestigious “100 Most Notable Peace Icons Africa Honours” ceremony slated for June 20.

The honours will recognise individuals making significant contributions to governance, transparency, education, agriculture, infrastructure, innovation and economic transformation across Africa.

Notable Honourees

The list of awardees spans business leaders, traditional rulers, diplomats, and public figures from across Africa and beyond. Among them are:

  • Kudakwashe Tagwirei, CEO of Sakunda Holdings (Zimbabwe)
  • Kenneth Ifekudu, Chairman of Diamond Leeds Limited (Nigeria)
  • Lawrence Oloche, CEO of Promiseland Estate (Nigeria)
  • Shola Akinlade, Nigerian tech entrepreneur
  • Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma, former African Union Commission chairperson
  • Don Jazzy and Juma Jux
  • Funke Akindele, Nigerian actress and filmmaker

Several other dignitaries from countries including Nigeria, Ghana, Kenya, Zimbabwe, Namibia, Uganda, and Mozambique are also expected to be recognised.

The summit underscores Africa’s growing emphasis on leadership, innovation, and regional cooperation, positioning itself as a key platform for fostering partnerships and celebrating excellence across the continent.
