Orry Claims Amrita Singh ‘Put Him Through Trauma’, Explains Rift With Sara Ali Khan

Social media personality Orhan Awatramani, popularly known as Orry, has opened up about his fallout with actor Sara Ali Khan and her brother Ibrahim Ali Khan, saying reconciliation is possible—but only under a specific condition.

In an interview with Hindustan Times, Orry confirmed that he has distanced himself from both siblings on social media. “I unfollowed Sara a while ago, and I haven’t followed Ibrahim in years,” he said, adding that he no longer wants to maintain surface-level friendships.

Explaining his decision, Orry said the rift stems from what he described as a “traumatic” experience involving Sara’s mother, veteran actor Amrita Singh. “Pretending to be friends with Sara means pretending to be okay with the trauma her mother put me through, and I just don’t think I can do that anymore,” he said.

While Orry did not elaborate on the nature of the trauma, he made it clear that an apology could potentially pave the way for reconciliation. “If Amrita Singh were to apologise, I could maybe see myself letting it go in the future,” he said.

Addressing controversy around a viral comment that appeared to take a dig at Sara Ali Khan’s film career, Orry denied any malicious intent. “I don’t really think I said anything wrong about her. I just made a small joke taking a dig at her career. I highly doubt she even felt bad about it. The whole internet makes fun of Sara’s movies all the time—it’s not that deep,” he said, adding that he himself is often mocked online.

Orry maintained that his remarks should not be viewed as personal attacks, despite acknowledging that he is no longer on good terms with both Sara and Ibrahim. Attempts to reach Amrita Singh, Sara Ali Khan and Ibrahim Ali Khan for comment received no response at the time of publishing.

Speculation around tensions between Orry and Sara dates back to August last year, when Orry shared photos of Sara on her birthday that were widely perceived as unflattering. Industry chatter suggests that Ibrahim Ali Khan, who was once close to Orry, also distanced himself around the same time.

Orry’s subsequent social media posts have further fuelled discussion. One reel asking followers to name the “worst names” featured the names Amrita, Sara and Palak, which many interpreted as a reference to Amrita Singh, Sara Ali Khan and Palak Tiwari. Another post—featuring Orry wearing a micro-bikini graphic on a T-shirt—sparked online debate, with some users reading it as a subtle dig at Sara’s career.

Sara Ali Khan has not directly responded to Orry’s comments. However, fans believe she addressed the controversy indirectly through an Instagram story featuring lyrics about living freely and avoiding unnecessary disputes.

Adding to the speculation, a WhatsApp chat allegedly between Orry and actor Palak Tiwari surfaced on Reddit in 2024. In the purported exchange, Palak appeared to apologise “out of respect for Sara,” to which Orry allegedly responded with a dismissive emoji—further fuelling reports of an earlier fallout.
