Two Flights Return Mid-Air on Same Day Due to Technical Issues; IndiGo, SpiceJet Respond.

An IndiGo flight from Delhi to Leh was forced to return to the national capital on Thursday after encountering a technical issue mid-air, the airline confirmed. The Airbus A320, operating as flight 6E 2006, had been airborne for over two hours before making its way back to Indira Gandhi International Airport, according to flight tracking platform Flightradar24.

In a statement, IndiGo said the technical snag led to “operational restrictions” that prevented the aircraft from landing in Leh.

“As per procedure, the pilot returned to Delhi. The aircraft is currently undergoing maintenance,” an IndiGo spokesperson said.

The airline added that an alternate aircraft was promptly arranged to transport the affected passengers to Leh without further delay.

SpiceJet Flight Also Turns Back After Takeoff from Hyderabad
In a separate incident on the same day, a SpiceJet flight from Hyderabad to Tirupati also returned to its origin shortly after takeoff due to a technical snag.

Flight SG 2696, which departed Hyderabad at 6:19 am, was scheduled to arrive in Tirupati at 7:40 am. However, the aircraft was forced to return to Rajiv Gandhi International Airport soon after takeoff. No injuries or emergency landing was reported, and passengers were safely deboarded.

IndiGo Passengers Delayed on Delhi–Raipur Flight a Day Earlier
Meanwhile, on Wednesday, passengers on another IndiGo flight — this time from Delhi to Raipur — were left waiting inside the aircraft for approximately 40 minutes after landing due to a technical delay in opening the aircraft door.

Among the passengers were former Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel and Raipur Mayor Meenal Choubey.

IndiGo later clarified that the delay was caused by a minor technical issue and that passengers were safely deplaned once the door was unlocked.
