Trump Warns Against ‘Bad Santa,’ Champions Coal During Christmas Eve Calls with Kids.

President Donald Trump celebrated Christmas Eve by speaking with children dialing into the North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD), which tracks Santa’s journey across the globe. While chatting with youngsters, Trump quizzed them about gifts they were excited to receive, warned against a “bad Santa” infiltrating the country, and suggested that a stocking full of coal might not be so bad.

From his Mar-a-Lago estate in Florida, Trump and First Lady Melania took about a dozen calls from children across the U.S. “We want to make sure Santa is being good. Santa’s a very good person,” Trump told kids aged 4 and 10 from Oklahoma. “We want to make sure that he’s not infiltrated, that we’re not infiltrating into our country a bad Santa.” He did not elaborate further.

Trump, known for blending holiday cheer with political commentary, returned to familiar themes on social media after the calls, writing: “Merry Christmas to all, including the Radical Left Scum that is doing everything possible to destroy our Country, but are failing badly.”

Despite the political jabs, Trump was in a playful mood on the calls. When an 8-year-old from North Carolina asked if Santa would be upset if no cookies were left out, he replied, “I think he’ll be very disappointed… Santa tends to be a little on the cherubic side,” jokingly adding that Santa would enjoy cookies.

He also brought his signature coal messaging into the conversation. An 8-year-old girl from Kansas requested “not coal” for Christmas. Trump responded with a laugh: “You mean clean, beautiful coal? But you don’t want clean, beautiful coal, right?” The child replied that she’d prefer a Barbie, clothes, and candy instead, prompting Trump to chuckle and Melania to smile.

Throughout the calls, the Trumps shared light-hearted moments, with Donald even teasing Melania about how focused she was on her own calls. The event highlighted the couple’s blend of holiday tradition, humor, and political messaging, keeping children engaged while allowing Trump to weave in his familiar talking points about coal and national security.
