Two key witnesses on Saturday identified jailed JKLF chief Yasin Malik as one of the gunmen involved in the 1990 attack that killed four Indian Air Force personnel in Srinagar.

The identification, made before a TADA court in Jammu, also included three of Malik’s alleged associates. The case, linked to the January 25, 1990 Rawalpora ambush, will next be heard on November 29.

In a major development in the 1990 IAF killings case, two crucial witnesses on Saturday identified separatist leader Yasin Malik as one of the shooters who opened fire on Air Force personnel at Rawalpora, Srinagar. Presented before a TADA court in Jammu, the witnesses also named three of his alleged accomplices. The case, which pertains to the killing of four IAF personnel on January 25, 1990—including Sqn Ldr Ravi Khanna—has now been posted for hearing on November 29.

Malik, currently serving a life sentence in Tihar under the UAPA, is simultaneously facing an NIA appeal in the Delhi High Court seeking the death penalty in a separate 2017 case. The next hearing in the 1990 matter is scheduled for November 29.
