Udta Teer Box Office Collection Day 2: Ayushmann Khurrana-Sara Ali Khan Film Earns ₹7 Crore

Ayushmann Khurrana and Sara Ali Khan have teamed up for Udta Teer, a spy comedy that brings a humorous twist to the genre. The film arrived in cinemas on Friday and received mixed reviews from critics. As it enters its first weekend, the movie has witnessed an improvement in its box office performance.

According to Sacnilk, Udta Teer collected ₹7 crore on Saturday, marking a rise from its opening-day earnings of ₹4.10 crore. The film’s total domestic collection has now reached ₹11.10 crore after two days in theatres.

The movie has managed to attract audiences despite competition from films released last week, including Yami Gautam’s Nayyi Navelli and Rajkummar Rao’s Prahaar, which continue to run in cinemas.

With Saturday bringing a noticeable boost to its earnings, the film will now depend on its Sunday performance to strengthen its overall collection and finish its opening weekend on a positive note.

MIXED REVIEWS FOR THE SPY COMEDY
While the film has shown growth at the box office, its humour has drawn criticism from reviewers who feel that several comic sequences lack spontaneity and rely heavily on exaggerated situations.

One particularly criticised hospital sequence features Vikrant using the immobile Burman and his stretcher as a shield and weapon while fighting Pakistani agents. The scene also incorporates a dead body and an awkwardly staged interaction with Burman, resulting in a sequence that feels more frivolous than funny.

Another scene follows Vikrant and Dhruv as they chase Maqsood through the narrow streets of Old Delhi. However, the excessive dialogue and over-the-top physical comedy reportedly weaken the sequence rather than delivering the intended laughs.

In a further attempt at slapstick humour, Burman is strapped vertically to a stretcher, with Dhruv using a remote control to make him dance. Such moments have raised questions about the effectiveness of the film’s comic execution.

Despite the mixed critical response, Udta Teer has registered improved collections on its second day. Its Sunday numbers will be crucial in determining whether the Ayushmann Khurrana and Sara Ali Khan starrer can maintain its momentum at the box office.
