US Open 2025 Unveils Record $90 Million Prize Purse, Largest in Tennis History.
The 2025 US Open will offer a record-breaking $90 million in total prize money—the highest payout in professional tennis history. This marks a 20% increase from the $75 million distributed in 2024, reinforcing the tournament’s growing financial commitment to players across all formats.
Singles Champions to Earn $5 Million
Both the men’s and women’s singles champions will take home $5 million each—a 39% increase from last year’s $3.6 million. Runners-up will receive $2.5 million, and semifinalists will earn $1.26 million. Every stage of the main draw has seen substantial gains, from $110,000 for first-round participants to $660,000 for quarterfinalists.
Doubles and Mixed Events Also See Major Boost
Prize money increases extend well beyond singles:
Men’s and women’s doubles champions will now earn $1 million per team.
Mixed doubles sees the most dramatic rise, with the champion team collecting $1 million—up from just $200,000 last year.
Qualifying, Wheelchair Events, and Equity Push
Qualifying rounds will now carry a 10% increase, with total qualifying payouts reaching $8 million. Wheelchair tennis will also see enhanced financial support, as part of the tournament’s broader commitment to inclusivity and parity.
This historic increase follows continued advocacy from top players such as Aryna Sabalenka and Jannik Sinner, who have called for a more equitable revenue distribution in the sport.
Tournament Expansion and Infrastructure Investment
The 2025 edition will also debut a 15-day format, beginning August 24, and will coincide with the ongoing $800 million renovation of the Arthur Ashe Stadium. These developments signal the USTA’s dual focus on growth and fairness in the sport.
