Vivek Oberoi Donates Entire Fee from Ranbir Kapoor’s Ramayana to Kids with Cancer.

Vivek Oberoi, who plays Vibhishan in Nitesh Tiwari’s highly anticipated Ramayana, has decided to donate his entire remuneration from the film to charity. The actor revealed that he chose to give away his fee to support children battling cancer.

In a recent interview with Hindustan Times, Vivek shared, “I told Namit (Malhotra, producer) that I don’t want a penny for this. I want to donate it to a cause I believe in — helping kids with cancer. I love what Namit and Nitesh are doing with Ramayana, and I think this film will take Indian cinema to the global stage with a bang.”

Speaking about his experience working on the project, Vivek said, “It’s always debated whether Ramayana is mythological or historical — we believe it’s historical. It’s been great working with the entire team — Namit, Nitesh, Yash, Rakul, and everyone else. I still have a couple of days of shoot left, and it’s been a wonderful journey.”

Expressing confidence in the film’s scale, he added, “What Namit and Nitesh are doing through Ramayana is truly taking Bharatiya cinema to the global stage. It’s going to be India’s answer to Hollywood epics. The team they’re collaborating with has won multiple Oscars for VFX — they’re doing something iconic.”

Production Update
According to reports, the edit for Ramayana: Part One has already been completed. Pinkvilla reported earlier this month that the team will now focus on the film’s extensive VFX work over the next 300 days.

A source told the outlet, “The shooting for Ramayana: Part One wrapped up in June 2025. Director Nitesh Tiwari has locked the final edit and run time. The first round of VFX is done, and the team is now moving into an extended phase of post-production.”

Star-Studded Cast
The magnum opus stars Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Ram, Sai Pallavi as Sita, and Yash as Ravana. Sunny Deol plays Hanuman, while Ravie Dubey essays Laxman. Kajal Aggarwal and Rakul Preet Singh portray Mandodari and Surpanakha, respectively. The ensemble also includes Arun Govil, Kunal Kapoor, Adinath Kothare, Sheeba Chaddha, and Indira Krishnan.

Ramayana: Part One is slated for a Diwali 2026 release, followed by Part Two during Diwali 2027.
