Women’s Asia Cup 2026 Schedule Out: India to Face Pakistan on September 5

India and Pakistan are set to reignite one of cricket’s biggest rivalries.

After the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) unveiled the schedule for the Women’s Asia Cup 2026 on Thursday, August 6. The two teams will lock horns in a highly anticipated Group A clash at the Dubai International Stadium on September 5.

The eight-team tournament will see India, Pakistan, Thailand and Hong Kong China compete in Group A, while Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, UAE and Indonesia make up Group B. The competition gets underway on August 28 with Thailand taking on Hong Kong China. This will be the sixth edition of the Women’s Asia Cup to be played in the T20 International format.

India will begin their campaign against Thailand on August 30, before facing Pakistan on September 5. All matches will be played under lights in Dubai, with a 6:30 PM local time start. The semi-finals are scheduled for September 10 and 11, while the championship match will be held on September 13.

India Eye Record-Extending Title

Defending powerhouse India will be aiming to lift a record-extending eighth Women’s Asia Cup trophy. Pakistan, meanwhile, are still searching for their maiden title, having finished runners-up to India in the 2012 and 2016 finals.

Since the tournament adopted the T20I format, Pakistan have managed to defeat India only once, registering a memorable win in the 2022 edition. However, India have largely dominated the rivalry in recent years, including a commanding 64-run victory over Pakistan in the group stage of the latest Women’s T20 World Cup. With another high-stakes encounter on the horizon, fans can expect another thrilling chapter in the storied India-Pakistan rivalry.
