Days after high drama unfolded at India’s AI Summit in the national capital, Delhi Police on Tuesday arrested Indian Youth Congress president Uday Bhanu Chib in connection with the protest at the event.
He is expected to be produced before a court later in the day, according to sources.Police sources said Chib is being questioned as part of the ongoing investigation into the disruption during the summit. Officials are examining the sequence of events and the role of those involved in the protest.
Meanwhile, Congress MP Sasikanth Senthil alleged that Chib was picked up by Delhi Police at around 4:30 am and has remained in custody for several hours. The party has criticised the timing of the action, while the police are yet to issue a detailed public statement on the matter.
