Suryakumar Yadav Falls to Sixth in T20I Rankings as Adil Rashid Climbs to No. 2.
India’s T20I captain Suryakumar Yadav has dropped out of the top five in the latest ICC Men’s T20I Batting Rankings, as England’s Adil Rashid surged to the No. 2 spot among bowlers following a dominant series against the West Indies.
Rashid was instrumental in England’s 3-0 sweep of the West Indies, delivering impactful performances throughout the series. The veteran leg-spinner picked up figures of 1/22 at Chester-le-Street, 1/59 in a high-scoring contest in Bristol, and 2/30 in Southampton. These efforts saw him leapfrog Sri Lanka’s Wanindu Hasaranga and India’s Varun Chakaravarthy to claim second place with a rating of 710—just 13 points behind top-ranked Jacob Duffy of New Zealand (723).
England’s Brydon Carse also made strides in the bowling rankings, climbing 16 places to 52nd after taking two wickets across the last two matches.
In the batting charts, Jos Buttler’s impressive showing with the bat saw him rise to fifth with 772 rating points, pushing Suryakumar Yadav down to sixth (739). Meanwhile, India’s Tilak Varma broke into the top three, benefiting from Phil Salt’s slight dip. Tilak now has 804 points, trailing only Australia’s Travis Head and fellow Indian Abhishek Sharma. Salt, who had a quiet series, fell to fourth with 791 points.
Several other players also saw significant gains:
Ben Duckett jumped 48 places to 16th after a blistering 84 off 46 balls in the final T20I.
Harry Brook moved up six spots to joint-38th with steady contributions across the series.
For the West Indies, Shai Hope rose 14 places to 15th after scoring 97 runs across three games.
Rovman Powell entered the top 20 following his unbeaten 79 off 45 balls in the final match.
In the all-rounders’ rankings, there were no major changes. India’s Hardik Pandya remains at No. 1 with 252 points, while England’s Liam Livingstone slipped to sixth.
The latest rankings reflect the growing competition in T20I cricket, with both established names and emerging stars reshaping the leaderboard.
