Imran Khan’s Sister Alleges Govt ‘Vendetta’, Says Authorities Want to Jail Her

Aleema Khan, sister of former Pakistan prime minister Imran Khan, has accused the government of running a “pre-planned political vendetta” against her family.

And the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI). Her allegations come shortly after she ended her protest outside Adiala Jail, where Imran Khan is currently imprisoned.

Claiming that authorities intend to arrest her without legal grounds, Aleema said, “They have decided to put me in jail without any judgment—no court order, no trial, no basis.” Intelligence sources said she believes state institutions are being weaponised to silence Imran Khan’s family and the PTI.

According to these sources, Aleema alleged that due process is being denied across the board, even as reports suggest the government is attempting to suppress public dissent amid growing anger over Imran Khan’s treatment in custody. She further accused the authorities of targeting her financially, calling it “economic strangulation.” Her bank accounts, she said, were frozen “without any verdict or notice.”

Aleema warned that the pressure campaign is part of a broader effort to weaken PTI leadership and prevent the party from mobilising support. She claimed her possible arrest is being timed to coincide with rising protests in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Punjab, as the government attempts to pre-empt further demonstrations by detaining key figures.

The allegations come amid heightened concern about Imran Khan’s conditions inside Adiala Jail. Intelligence assessments reportedly suggest the government is acting out of “fear” due to “mounting public anger” over claims of mistreatment, including isolation and restricted access to family members.

Aleema and other PTI leaders recently staged a major sit-in at the Gorakhpur checkpost near Adiala Jail, protesting their inability to meet Imran Khan. The demonstration caused heavy traffic snarls, blocking ambulances, commuters, and school vehicles. The protest was called off after police assured the family that meetings with the former prime minister would be facilitated.
