Twisha Sharma Case: Key Witness Allegedly Assaulted by Samarth Singh’s Friends, Attack Captured on Camera
As the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) continues its probe into the death of 33-year-old Twisha Sharma, a fresh controversy has emerged after a key witness in the case alleged.
That he was assaulted by friends of the prime accused, Samarth Singh. Twisha was found dead under suspicious circumstances at her marital home in Bhopal on May 12. Her family has accused her husband, Samarth Singh, and mother-in-law, Giribala Singh, of murdering her. The case is currently being investigated by the CBI.
According to local reports, the witness, identified as Neeraj Dubey, alleged that he was attacked on May 30 by individuals linked to Samarth Singh. Dubey runs a beauty parlour near Giribala Singh’s residence and had been listed as a witness by police during the recovery of evidence in the Twisha Sharma case.
However, the accused side has denied the allegation. They claimed Dubey arrived at their restaurant in an intoxicated condition and created a disturbance. According to them, staff members intervened after he refused to leave the premises.
Both parties have lodged complaints at Katara Hills police station, and an investigation into the incident is underway.
Station House Officer Sunil Dubey said the restaurant owner had approached police on the day of the incident itself, alleging that Neeraj had created a nuisance at the establishment. The witness later filed his assault complaint before police could call him for questioning in connection with that matter.
Meanwhile, the CBI on Monday recreated the circumstances surrounding Twisha Sharma’s death as part of its ongoing investigation.
Investigators took Samarth Singh and Giribala Singh to the house where Twisha was found dead and conducted a detailed reconstruction of events. The agency reportedly used an 80-kg mannequin, approximating Twisha’s weight, along with a noose and the belt allegedly used in the hanging, to examine various aspects of the case.
A CBI team, including a woman officer, carried out an extensive inspection of the residence, questioned eyewitnesses who were present on May 12, and recorded statements from family members and relatives, including Samarth Singh’s elder brother.
The agency is continuing to examine all available evidence as it seeks to determine the circumstances that led to Twisha Sharma’s death.
