Bihar Teacher’s Roadside Clash With Police Amid Alleged Extramarital Affair Row

A public dispute involving a government school teacher in Bihar’s Hajipur has drawn widespread attention.

After videos surfaced showing a heated exchange between the woman and police officers during an intervention linked to allegations made by her husband.

The incident involved Gunjan Kumari, a teacher appointed through the Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC), and her husband Aman Kumar, who alleged that he found her with a man he claimed was her close acquaintance at a rented accommodation in Hajipur’s Lichchavi Nagar area. Following the allegation, police reached the spot, leading to a confrontation that was captured on video and widely shared on social media.

Footage from the scene shows an argument involving the teacher, her husband, police personnel and local residents. During the exchange, an officer urged those present to maintain order and avoid creating a public disturbance. Gunjan was also seen responding sharply to the police warning, with the verbal exchange becoming a major talking point online.

What Are The Allegations?

According to Aman Kumar, a resident of Bihar’s Vaishali district, he supported his wife’s education and career ambitions for several years. He claims that after their marriage in 2013, he helped fund her higher education and teacher training, including expenses related to preparation for the BPSC recruitment examination.

Gunjan later qualified through the BPSC teacher recruitment process and secured a government teaching position. Aman alleges that their relationship deteriorated after her appointment and claims she grew close to a man identified as Prem Prakash during a training programme.

He further alleges that Gunjan had been living separately in Hajipur for nearly a year and that Prem Prakash frequently visited the residence. Acting on information about his presence there, Aman says he went to the house and subsequently informed the police.

Child’s Claims Surface

The controversy intensified after the couple’s 10-year-old son reportedly made allegations regarding the visitor’s frequent presence at the house. The child claimed he was told to identify the man as a relative and was often asked to stay away when he visited.

However, these assertions remain allegations made by family members and have not been independently verified by authorities.

At present, no official findings have been announced regarding the claims. While the family dispute has attracted significant public attention, the allegations remain unproven, and any conclusions will depend on the outcome of any inquiry conducted by the authorities.
