Cockroach Janta Party Founder Returns to India, Plans Protest Seeking Dharmendra Pradhan’s Resignation
Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) founder Abhijeet Dipke is set to arrive in India on Friday ahead of a proposed protest in Delhi, where he plans to demand the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan over alleged irregularities in several national-level examinations.
Announcing his return on social media platform X, Dipke said he was placing his faith in India’s democratic institutions as he prepared to launch what he described as a peaceful campaign.
“Leaving my fate in the hands of the Constitution and the Judiciary, I am returning to India tomorrow. Will the Constitution allow me to peacefully protest? We shall see,” Dipke wrote.
The planned demonstration is expected to focus on controversies surrounding examinations such as NEET, CUET, CBSE and SSC GD. Dipke has argued that repeated allegations of irregularities and administrative lapses have affected the futures of millions of students, making accountability essential.
Appeals to Supporters to Avoid Airport Gathering
Ahead of his arrival, Dipke urged supporters not to assemble at Delhi airport, saying the response to his campaign had exceeded expectations and could disrupt normal operations.
In a video message posted online, he said large crowds at the airport would inconvenience passengers and create difficulties for security personnel.
“The overwhelming response from those who want the resignation of Dharmendra Pradhan to our call to join us at Delhi Airport was beyond our imagination. It is not feasible for so many people to assemble at the airport as it would cause inconvenience to the public and the security forces. So please do not come to Delhi airport,” he said.
Instead, Dipke said he would proceed directly to the Parliament Street Police Station after landing to formally seek permission for a protest at Jantar Mantar.
“I will be going to the Parliament Street Police Station to seek permission directly for our peaceful protest at Jantar Mantar. We are law-abiding citizens and have to act responsibly. So please be mindful that nobody should create any kind of disturbance,” he added.
Focus on Examination Controversies
Dipke has linked his campaign to concerns raised by students over the conduct of several competitive examinations in recent years.
Earlier this week, he claimed that more than one crore students had been affected by controversies surrounding exams including NEET, CBSE, CUET and SSC GD.
“Today, NEET’s 22 lakh students, CBSE’s 17 lakh students, CUET’s 16 lakh students and SSC GD’s 40 lakh students — more than one crore students whose lives have been mocked by the system. Because of this, students are very anxious and worried about their future. Someone has to take responsibility for this,” he said.
He has repeatedly argued that the Education Ministry should be held accountable for alleged lapses in the examination process.
CJP Expands Team Ahead of Protest
As preparations for the campaign continue, the Cockroach Janta Party has announced three official spokespersons — Saurav Das, Vijeta Dahiya and Ashutosh Ranka — to represent the organisation during the movement.
Dipke also revealed that his family, particularly his parents, remain concerned about the possibility of legal action following his return to India. Despite those concerns, he said he remains committed to the campaign and hopes authorities will allow the protest to proceed peacefully and within the framework of the law.
With his arrival expected on Friday, attention will now turn to whether the proposed demonstration at Jantar Mantar receives official permission and how authorities respond to the demands raised by the campaign.
