Hanuman Ansh Creates Box Office History: ₹2 Crore Film Soars Past ₹200 Crore, Surpasses Mirzapur And Haiwaan

Hanuman Ansh has turned into an extraordinary box-office success, achieving a milestone few expected when it opened with a modest collection of just ₹10 lakh.

Made on a reported budget of only ₹2 crore, the devotional film has now crossed the ₹200 crore mark worldwide, becoming the smallest-budget Indian film to enter the ₹200 crore club.

Based on the life and teachings of spiritual guru Neem Karoli Baba, the film initially struggled to attract audiences. Its first two weeks brought in only ₹1.48 crore net in India, raising questions about its theatrical prospects.

However, the film witnessed a dramatic turnaround after strong word of mouth began driving audiences to theatres.

Hanuman Ansh Turns Into A Box-Office Phenomenon

The major shift came around Day 16, after which Hanuman Ansh began recording significantly stronger collections. The film maintained its momentum through the following weeks and delivered exceptional numbers in its third, fourth and fifth weeks.

Its fourth week alone brought in around ₹61 crore, while the fifth week proved even bigger, with the film collecting a staggering ₹90 crore.

The strong run continued into its sixth weekend. On Friday, its 36th day in theatres, the film added another ₹10.50 crore net to its domestic tally.

With that collection, Hanuman Ansh reached approximately ₹174 crore in India net collections.

₹2 Crore Film Crosses ₹200 Crore Worldwide

The film has not yet released in overseas markets, meaning its current worldwide gross is driven entirely by its Indian theatrical performance.

Its worldwide collection has now reached approximately ₹205 crore, taking the film comfortably past the ₹200 crore milestone.

What makes the achievement even more remarkable is its reported ₹2 crore production budget. At that cost, Hanuman Ansh has emerged as the lowest-budget Indian film to cross ₹200 crore worldwide.

The film has surpassed the previous benchmark associated with The Kashmir Files, which was reportedly made on a budget of around ₹15 crore.

Story Of Neem Karoli Baba

Written, directed and produced by Vishal Chaturvedi under his banner Swambhu Media Network, Hanuman Ansh is based on his book Divine Detour: That Changed My Life.

The film draws from the life of Neem Karoli Baba and follows the spiritual transformation of its central character.

Shobhinaw Satyaa and Chandan Anand play the lead roles.

The story follows Lakshmi Narayan, a young boy living in pre-Independence India. After losing his mother, he leaves home in search of God and embarks on a journey across North India.

His travels eventually lead him toward a profound spiritual transformation, culminating in his emergence as Neem Karoli Baba.

From a slow ₹10 lakh opening to more than ₹200 crore worldwide, Hanuman Ansh has emerged as one of the most unexpected box-office stories of recent times.
