Review
Kantara: Chapter 1 starts with a slow-paced first half focused on world-building, which some viewers may find drawn-out. The second half picks up momentum with a faster-paced plot, elaborate action sequences, and a shocking twist. Rishab Shetty shines in intense, “possessed” sequences, commanding attention on screen, while some everyday scenes feel less impactful. Rukmini Vasanth’s performance, though consistent, tends to rely on limited expressions.

The film’s standout elements are its music and visuals. Composer B. Ajaneesh Loknath delivers a brilliant score, blending classical music to heighten scenes. Cinematography by Arvind S Kashyap and VFX create a rich, immersive world, with meticulous attention to detail—even capturing the emotions of animals convincingly.

In an era where stories rooted in Indian culture are finding massive success, Kantara: Chapter 1 combines folklore, striking visuals, and compelling music to carve its own space in the box office landscape.
